After reading through all of the awesomely funny and very disturbing posts there seems to be a common theme – distracted driving.  People wrote of watching people change clothes while driving, feed dogs, drive with their foot to multitask, put on makeup, shave, etc.

Did you know that in 2009, 5,474 people were killed on U.S. roadways and an estimated additional 448,000 were injured in motor vehicle crashes that were reported to have involved distracted driving (NHTSA).

16% of fatal crashes in 2009 involved reports of distracted driving.

I am fortunate enough to not have lost a loved one in a distracted driving incident.  However, this is a major problem for EVERYONE!  Maybe you don’t text while driving, but most people are guilty of driving while distracted.  Just because your driving safely, doesn’t necessarily mean the person behind you is doing the same!
