Screaming. Automated prompts, lazy music, voice mails, error messages, and long holds can make a call to customer service extremely painful.  Recently, I placed a call to a major telephone company. After entering account information numerous times, the automated system kept looping me to find an automated answer when I really needed someone to take a look at my account.
