Texting vs. Drinking – two things you should never do if you are driving

So today’s accident count… 3.   One involved a well known companies pick up truck.  I am going to be picking up the phone to tell them about our Fleet Driver Training program, because their liability just went up and I am certain it had to do with their employee driving their vehicle.

I found this video below which really illustrates two very real, very bad driving behaviors.   Over time, www.madd.org/ has done a great job of educating the public on the very real dangers of drinking and driving.   Our safety driving video   has extensive coverage – and real stories about the dangers of drinking and driving.

With our wired, linked and on line society today, another very real driving behavior has emerged, while the focus has been on texting and driving, it really has to do with distracted driving altogether, whether talking on the phone, fast forwarding an MP3 player, checking GPS or changing a CD, it is the distractions we encounter while driving which take our focus away from the fact we are driving!   focusdriven.org is a website which represents a new organization which is advocating safe driving behavior behind the wheel by eliminating the use of cell phones.

I think the video below illustrates the danger very well… focus on the primary task at hand – which is driving.
