Its probably illegal

As I was driving to work this morning, the radio station I was listening to aired an ad about their competition stating, “They play so many ads, it is probably illegal to listen to them in a school zone.”

I found it strange the radio station was using this as a marketing ploy, but school zones have been and are the focus, of local legislatures across the country.   More states have adopted legislation making it illegal to USE a cell phone in a school zone.    It make sense, there is a concentrated number of cars, kids and drivers before school starts and after it ends.   The laws are designed to make it illegal to use any type of cell phone, for texting or even hands free, in a school zone.   Further, many states have enacted legislation throughout the country making it illegal to text.   If you have drivers across the country, does your corporate driver training cover this?

The have enacted these laws to make school zones safer… my question, what is the difference between a school zone and a major highway?   If we believe cell phones present a danger (and they do) in school zones, do we not believe they present the same type of danger on the highway?   As another advertiser would say… Think about it.
