Houston has many freeways, and at one point and time we have traveled on all if not most of them. They can be a quick solution to your destination or they can be the terror that you were trying to avoid that day. Either way I guess we have to have the understanding that everyone is traveling on the freeway. Not just people from Houston.

From I-10 to 610 to 59 to beltway 8 you will see all types of License plates. Many from Texas. Others from our neighboring states and some very far home visitors. You can always tell an out-of-state driver from someone who has always live in Houston. Traffic is horrible, we all know this. So when you are driving on the freeway and find yourself stuck in traffic remember this:

**When you are new to Houston and is experience Houston traffic for the first time it can be very overwhelming… people are honking at you, at times it seems like you are not moving, and then the worst feeling of all… you realize you are supposed to be exiting at the next exit and you are not going to be able to get over in time… Being from Texas and experiencing this all the time it can get very irritating and then you run into out-of-state visitors who are not sure what to do on the freeway.

**Rather than honking and yelling at them remember they don’t drive the freeways everyday like you or I do. They may be lost and not sure what they are to do next. So, the next time you are in traffic (yes, I am going to take my own advice); stop, breathe, and remember you are not going anywhere anytime soon, so just sit back, relax, enjoy your music and wait for the traffic to start moving, getting heated and agitated isn’t going to make that 35+ min drive in traffic go any faster.
