Off-duty Houston officer involved in three-vehicle accident

Posted on by Defensive Driving | in Kianasroderules

An off-duty officer with the Houston Police Department was not hurt after an accident where a sport utility vehicle landed on top of the car he had driven.  The accident took place after 11 p.m. Tuesday on Harwin Drive near the West Sam Houston Parkway South frontage road in southwest Houston. Police determined that a minivan traveling southbound on the West Sam Houston Parkway South frontage road bypassed a red traffic light and struck the SUV, which caused the SUV to roll over and land on the car driven by the off-duty officer.

Two people were treated for minor injuries at the scene of the accident, but no one was taken to any hospital. DefensiveDriving.com is a company devoted to educating drivers in accident prevention so events like this won’t happen. It is important to obey the laws that the city/state have put in place.
