Auto Insurance Discounts

Do you need some extra money each month?  Who doesn’t.  And like most of us, you’ve probably already looked under all the couch cushions and thought about going into your kids piggy bank.  But have you thought about looking at your Auto Insurance for some extra money.  Yep, Auto Insurance.  You’ll need to check with your auto insurance agent, but most reputable insurance groups offer anywhere between 10 & 15% annual discounts for three years if you complete a Defensive Driving Course.

Depending on your state, the Defensive Driving Courses, or approved traffic school courses, are four or six hours.    Think about it.  Six hours of your time to save money for three years.  How much money?  Well that depends on your state.  If you live in Louisiana, where the average auto insurance policy is $2500 per year, you can save about $750 over three years.   If you live in Texas where the average policy is about $1400 per year, you can save over $400 for completing a Defensive Driving or Traffic school course.   I don’t know about you, but that’s real money in my house.

Contact your auto insurance company and find out how much of a discount they’ll offer.  I have found that the online courses are the best.  There are even some that offer a State Approved Defensive Driving co use in streaming video.

A few hours of your time.  A small ($25) investment and all of a sudden you’ve found some extra spending money each month.
