Fatal Metro Bus crash slows down traffic…

Thursday morning on June 23,2011 at about 8:30 a.m a two-vehicle crash occurred on southbound 288, according to Metro officials.The driver of an out-of-service Metro bus died this morning after he collided with a dump truck and slammed into a pillar at a railroad overpass on Texas 288 near McGregor. It was said the driver may have experienced a medical issue just prior to the crash.  The accident investigation kept the two main lanes closed for a extended period, which is why TexDot was asking drivers to try and use a alternate route. One lane was getting by; however, congestion was significant and traffic was moving extremely slowly. If you don’t feel right or feel there’s something not quite right, always go with your gut feeling because most of the time is whats best. Take time out for yourself before getting behind the wheel to assure your safety.
