Getting Defensive to Have a great driving trip during Spring Break

Posted on by Defensive Driving | in Crash & Burn: Life in the Fastlane

Spring break is approaching for many people around the nation. It is usually the time of vacations , celebrations , and family trips. As a Driver Safety course ,  we know the increased traffic is sure to cause many headaches on the roads. Driver Safety is the most important thing to consider while traveling on the road. The second priority  is to take care of your vehicle and to make sure there is no damage done to it. Here are some tips to getting defensive to have a safe experience during spring break.

1.Before driving to your destination, have your car checked out by a mechanic to
ensure it can make a long trip.

2.Drive on heavily-traveled highways and avoid making your way too far off of the
interstate.  Being lost decreases your vigilance and increases the possibility that
you could become the victim of a crime.

3.Do not allow anyone in the car to drink alcohol.  Many states have open
container laws that prohibit any person in a car from drinking alcohol.

4.If you are tired, trade-off drivers to even the driving load. You can take turns behind the wheel, and whoever sits shotgun should stay awake to keep the driver company.

These Defensive Driving tips will help you rule the road during spring break. You can learn more by taking our Online Driver Safety course at ddo.vertex.com
