The hazard light parade

Today’s drive in was interesting.   The remnants of Hurricane Alex have dumped a lot of rain in the Houston metro area in the last 24 hours and today’s commute was definitely impacted by excess water.   I commend most of the drivers who accompanied me today, people were allowing for plenty of space between vehicles, they were not speeding and they were definitely exercising good driver safety behavior.

With that said, to the 5 cars in the middle lane driving with your hazard lights on, really, we all know it is hazardous driving conditions and while we appreciate your desire to drive slow, one you are in the middle lane and two, those lights are meant for when you are approaching a hazard or you are the hazard on the side of the road.   They are not meant to be in the constant on position!
