An Aggressive Driver or a Passive Driver?

All of us have different driving styles and behaviors; some of us drive in an aggressive and almost bullying manner while others drive in a very passive manner. Although some will claim that being a passive driver and going at slower speeds is the safest approach, others will claim that being aggressive and reacting pro-actively to driving situations is better. So, who is right? The answer of course, is neither one!

Driving slowly does not necessarily lead to safer driving conditions! Indeed, just like a slow-moving vehicle that blocks traffic and causes disarray, a slow-moving car can also create unintended havoc for other drivers; much in the same manner, aggressive drivers can also cause accidents as the aggressive driving behavior may cause other drivers to respond in unsafe ways. So, what other choice is there? To put it simply, it’s best to drive defensively!  Defensive driving means not being passive or aggressive, but to anticipate events, always be conscientious of road and traffic conditions, and to respond to these conditions in a manner which will ensure safety not only for yourself, but for others on the road as well.
